Pattaya —
At 1:00 AM on December 21st, 2024, Pattaya police responded to a report of an unidentified foreign tourist armed with a knife, knocking on residents’ doors at a condominium on Jomtien Second Road.
According to the police, residents were visibly shaken. Security guards detained the foreign man, whose name and nationality remain unknown.
He was wearing a black T-shirt and black boxers and appeared to be heavily intoxicated. Nearby, police found a 15-centimeter kitchen knife he had been swinging throughout the building, which was collected as evidence.
Unidentified residents reported the man had earlier been walking naked with the knife, knocking on doors throughout the condo. Alarmed by the sight of the large, unclothed man holding a weapon through their peepholes, they alerted building security and police.
Police initially attempted to return the tourist to his room, who was no longer completely naked, but frightened residents strongly objected, citing concerns for their safety and the man’s erratic behavior, which could escalate unpredictably.
The man was arrested and taken into police custody to sober up and be interviewed about his bizarre behavior and to positively identify him and review his visa status.
