National —

On December 15th, 2024, Jirayu Huangsap, the Government Spokesperson, revealed that Thailand welcomed over 37.72 million tourists from January 1st to December 8th, 2024, contributing over 1.535 trillion baht to the economy.

The top five source markets were China (6.3 million visitors), Malaysia (4.6 million), India (1.9 million), South Korea (1.7 million), and Russia (1.55 million).
With the high season underway and long-haul travelers from Europe entering the market, the government expects a significant boost in arrivals. Key measures, such as the “Ease of Traveling” system, which offers comprehensive e-Services for tourism information, aim to streamline the experience for international visitors.
On December 13th, Neos Air launched direct flights from Ostrava, Czech Republic, to Phuket, opening opportunities for high-quality Czech tourists.

The government projects 60,000 Czech arrivals in 2024 and 78,000 in 2025, supported by strategic tourism marketing campaigns.
Popular destinations like Krabi and Phang Nga (Khao Lak) are expected to benefit from these developments, with the goal of generating 5 billion baht in revenue by 2025.
