Prominent Boxing Figure Shot Dead at Ex-Ministers Residence in Prachinburi

At 8:20 PM on December 11th, 2024, Prachinburi police received a report of a murder involving firearms at the residence of Mr. Sunthorn Wilawan, the President of the Prachinburi Provincial Administrative Organization and former Deputy Minister of Public Health. 

The victim was Mr. Chaimet Sittisanitpong, a prominent figure in the boxing world and Sunthorn’s adopted son.

The suspects, including Mr. Thanasarankorn and Mr. Saksit, along with five others, allegedly used a 9mm Canik handgun and a shotgun to commit the crime, according to the police.

The incident began at 7:30 PM, when Chaimet reportedly arrived at the residence and engaged in a heated argument with the group. The dispute escalated, leading to the suspects fatally shooting Chaimet at the scene, according to the police.

Initially, police secured the crime scene, gathered evidence, and conducted forensic examinations. All seven suspects, including Sunthorn, have been arrested and taken to Mueang Prachinburi Police Station for legal proceedings.
