The Thai Meteorological Department issued a 7-day weather forecast from December 7th to 13th.
A new high-pressure system from China will bring cooler temperatures to northern and central regions between December 8th and 10th, with a 2–4°C drop in the northeast and 1–3°C elsewhere. Strong winds will accompany the cooler air, while isolated rain may occur initially.
In the south, the northeast monsoon will strengthen, causing heavy rainfall in the lower region. Waves in the Gulf of Thailand will reach up to 2 meters and exceed 2 meters in stormy areas.
From December 11th to 12th, temperatures will briefly rise by 1–3°C in the north and central regions with morning fog, while rains will persist in southern provinces.
Another cold front is expected by December 13th, bringing a further 3–5°C drop in the northeast and strengthening winds in the Gulf, with waves rising to 3 meters in stormy areas.
The department advises upper Thailand residents to prepare for the colder weather and strong winds. In the south, heavy rainfall and flooding risks remain a concern, especially in low-lying and mountainous areas. Small boats in the lower Gulf should remain ashore from December 13th onward.
