Motorcycle Thief Falls from Roof While Fleeing From Police Near Pattaya

Banglamung —

A motorcycle theft gang member in Banglamung was caught after falling from a roof while trying to escape police.

The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Watit Poomsritong, was wanted under an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court dated October 31st, 2024. He was charged with “theft at night in a residence involving two or more individuals, using a vehicle to facilitate escape and transport stolen property.” Watit was a key figure in a notorious motorcycle theft gang operating in the Banglamung area, according to arresting police.

On December 5th, 2024, investigators learned that Watit had been hiding with his girlfriend at a local apartment. Police officers went to the building to arrest him, but upon realizing the officers were at the door, Watit forcefully pushed it open and fled via the building’s parking garage roof. He then attempted to jump to the ground to continue his escape but fell, hitting the ground hard.

Banglamung police were able to apprehend him immediately after the fall. Two officers sustained minor injuries during the struggle as Watit reportedly resisted arrest. The suspect was taken into custody for questioning and subsequently handed over to Banglamung Police Station for further legal proceedings.
