Chinese Driver Charged After Fatal Pattaya Crash, No Alcohol Found in System

Pattaya police found no alcohol in the system of a Chinese driver who caused a fatal car crash late last night that left one dead and several injured on Thepprasit Road. However, the driver is accused of habitually using his phone while driving, and he is undergoing drug test.

A Chinese national caused a devastating multi-vehicle crash on Thepprasit Road in the Pattaya area resulting in numerous injuries and at least one fatality.

At 9:00 AM on December 6th, Pattaya police officially charged Mr. Zhang Yigong, the Chinese suspect in a recent devastating accident for reckless driving causing damage to others’ property and resulting in loss of life. The name of the suspect has publicly been released by the police.

Mr. Zhang was found uninjured after having crashed his car into multiple vehicles on Thepprasit Road on the night of December 5th. The crash killed one person and injured multiple others.

However, initial investigations by Pattaya police revealed that Mr. Zhang had no alcohol in his system, although reports indicated that he habitually used his phone while driving and had been arguing with his girlfriend on the phone at the time of the incident.

Authorities have sent Mr. Zhang for drug testing at Banglamung Hospital, with results still pending.
