Fire Guts Ghost Ship Hotel on Koh Chang

Trat – A fire severely damaged the abandoned “Ghost Ship” hotel on Koh Chang on Tuesday, December 3rd.

The Koh Chang Police were notified of the blaze at 1:00 PM at the abandoned hotel, a popular photo spot for tourists, located in Baan Bang Bao, South Koh Chang.

More than 50 firefighters from nearby areas responded, arriving with fire engines to battle the flames.

Koh Chang Tai Mayor, Mr. Jakkrit Salakpetch, stated that it took approximately four hours to finally control the fire. The fire reportedly started on the first floor at the back of the building and spread to the fifth floor at the front.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported as there were no tourists at the site at the time. Authorities are investigating the cost of the damage and the cause of the fire as of press time.
