At 9:30 AM on November 29th, 2024, Police Chief Pol. Gen. Kitrat Phanphet announced the results of a nationwide crackdown on drug networks.
The operation targeted 907 networks, with raids conducted at 3,146 locations. Thai authorities apprehended 4,784 suspects, including 453 under existing warrants, across 4,642 drug-related cases.
Seized items included 44.2 million methamphetamine pills, 2,225 kilograms of crystal meth, 27.6 kilograms of heroin, 3.9 kilograms of ketamine, and 1,222 ecstasy pills. Additionally, police confiscated 241 firearms and assets valued at over 579 million baht.
The crackdown focused on dismantling both major and local drug networks to disrupt community-level drug dealing. Between October 2023 and November 2024, the Royal Thai Police reported over 281,000 drug-related arrests, seizing over 1.1 billion methamphetamine pills and assets worth 12.64 billion baht.
