Pattaya —
A Belgian man tragically lost his life after his motorcycle crashed into a village gate in Pattaya early Friday morning.
At 5:36 AM on November 29th, Nongprue police received a report of a motorcycle accident at the entrance gate of a village on Khao Talo Road in Pattaya. Upon receiving the report, police coordinated with rescue services before rushing to the scene, along with reporters from The Pattaya News.
At the scene, officers found a yellow-black Yamaha Aerox motorcycle, which seemed to have lost control at a curve and crashed into the village entrance gate. Near the base of the gate pillar, the body of a foreign man, later identified as 45-year-old Belgian national Mr. David, was discovered. He was deceased from several fatal injuries.
Mr. Teerakhan, a 33-year-old village security guard, told The Pattaya News that while he was on duty, he did not witness the whole accident but only heard the sound of the motorcycle losing control, getting his attention. He described the vehicle flipping before sliding along the road, with the rider being thrown against the gate and becoming motionless. He immediately reported the accident to relevant authorities for assistance.
Nongprue police plan to review CCTV footage to determine the cause of the accident. Meanwhile, the deceased’s body was transported to Banglamung Hospital to be stored until his relatives provided the necessary documents to claim the body for religious rites. The victim’s embassy will also be contacted. His last name was withheld per our editorial policy.
