British Motorcyclist Collides with Allegedly Intoxicated Thai Pedestrian in Pattaya, Witnesses Claim Pedestrian at Fault

Pattaya —

A 53-year-old British motorcyclist collided with a 45-year-old Thai pedestrian in Pattaya, leaving the pedestrian injured. However, witnesses stated that the victim was intoxicated and walked in front of the British motorcyclist.

At 9:40 PM on November 26th, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center received a report of a traffic accident on Jomtien Second Road, just before the Rompho Market. After receiving the report, a team of volunteers rushed to the scene, along with reporters from The Pattaya News.

Upon arrival, rescuers found the victim lying face down in the middle of the road. He was wearing a red T-shirt and black pants and had sustained head injuries with abrasions on his body. The victim was identified only as Mr. Surat, 45. Rescue workers administered first aid before transporting him to a nearby hospital.

A red and black Kawasaki Z900 big bike was found nearby with significant damage to the front. The motorcycle was ridden by Mr. Holmes, a 53-year-old British national, who had sustained only minor abrasions.

Witnesses told The Pattaya News that Mr. Surat appeared heavily intoxicated and crossed the road directly in front of the motorcycle, causing the collision. Mr. Holmes did not provide his statement at the scene or speak to reporters. Police are investigating further as of press time and plan to review CCTV cameras in the vicinity.
