Tak —
At 8:30 PM on November 24th, 2024, a Thai border patrol unit from Task Force Ratchamanu in Mae Sot, Tak, rescued a Chinese man trapped in a 10-meter-deep well for over three days.
While patrolling near Wang Takian village along the Thai-Myanmar border, soldiers reportedly heard faint cries for help in the forest.
Initially uncertain of the source, they called out and received a response, leading them to a well where they found the shirtless man, estimated to be 35-40 years old, weak and pleading for help in Chinese.
Rescue services were called to extract the man, who was immediately taken to Mae Sot Hospital for treatment. Through an interpreter, the Chinese man expressed heartfelt gratitude to the soldiers and rescue team, saying he would not have survived without their timely intervention.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances of his fall and coordinating with immigration police to determine why he was in the area.
