Host Bar in Pattaya Raided for Allegedly Opening Beyond Legal Hours

Pattaya –

Pattaya Police and Banglamung officers raided a host bar in South Pattaya on Saturday early in the morning (November 23rd) allegedly because the venue operated beyond legal hours.

The raid took place at 3:16 A.M. The authorities uncovered that the bar stayed open beyond legal hours. Officers ordered to turn off the music and turn on the lights, ending the party. Male staffers and customers were separated with female staff and customers.

Police conducted urine drug tests on all customers and staff but officers did not report if any of them were found positive for illegal drugs. No other illegal items were found in the venue.

The bar caretaker, identified only as Mr. Surawit, 24, was taken to the Pattaya City Police Station to face related charges to operating the venue past legal opening hours. The name of the venue was withheld pending further legal action.

A host bar is a type of bar in which customers select a host or hostess from the stage to keep them company and drink and talk with them, notes The Pattaya News, paying the host for their time. This particular venue was aimed at Thai nationals and it was not reported that any foreigners or tourists were present.
