Chonburi Police to Deploy Over 800 Officers for Pattaya International Fireworks Festival Security

At 2:30 PM on November 22nd, 2024, Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatchakiat Jinda Kuansanong, the Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police, convened a meeting with over 30 agencies to finalize security measures for the Pattaya International Fireworks Festival on November 29th-30th.

Approximately 800 personnel, including uniformed and plainclothes police, Pattaya city officials, and related staff, will ensure public safety.

The plan includes evacuation routes, emergency patient transport, and enhanced traffic management to accommodate the influx of visitors, according to Pol. Maj. Gen. Thawatchakiat.

More than 5,000 CCTV cameras, including 170 currently under repair, will monitor the event. Authorities have also prepared emergency response teams for both land and water incidents, with designated evacuation routes established to handle unforeseen situations effectively.

Pattaya police have also warned motorbike taxi drivers not to overcharge during the event as we reported here.

During the event Pattaya Beach Road will be entirely closed to all vehicle traffic from end to end, from 3:00 PM until around Midnight each day. There will be multiple parking lots available at places like Terminal 21 and Big C Extra and limited shuttle services.
