How to Visit Pattaya and Chonburis Five New Michelin Bib Gourmand Restaurants

Recently, the Michelin Guide announced for the first time ever that five restaurants in Chonburi, including right in our main market of Pattaya, were made new Michelin Bib Gourmand Restaurants for 2025.

Bib Gourmand and Michelin Star restaurants are both recognized by the Michelin Guide, but they cater to different dining experiences. Bib Gourmand signifies restaurants offering excellent value for money, with good quality food at moderate prices. In contrast, Michelin Star restaurants are awarded one to three stars based on their exceptional cuisine, with higher stars indicating higher levels of excellence and prestige.

Essentially, Bib Gourmand highlights affordability, while Michelin Stars highlights outstanding culinary achievement. This comes ahead of the actual Michelin Star announcements for this year scheduled on November 28th. We wanted to make a quick guide about each Bib Gourmand restaurant in Pattaya and Chonburi, a little about them, and how to find them.

Four out of five are basically in or near Pattaya, with one in Saensuk.

The five restaurants in our area announced as Bib Gourmand are Khao Lam Mae Khai Toon Klao (aromatic bamboo sticky rice with diverse fillings), Krua Laew Tae R-Rom (limited-menu seafood and Thai dishes based on daily fresh ingredients), La Voi Pattaya (premium beef stews and soups), Lung Shall Kitchen (simple dishes expertly crafted), and Pladids (seasonal home-style set meals).

All photos below are from their own restaurants. Many of them are more focused on their food than social media and many of our readers said they needed help finding them. Some don’t accept credit cards or use delivery app services either preferring to focus on the in restaurant experience.

The Michelin Guide website with all of them listed in English is here. So here you go!

La Voi Pattaya

First up, La Voi Pattaya. Located on Soi Chaiayapreuk 1 in Jomtien its between Jomtien Second Road/Thrappraya and heading towards Sukhumvit. They are also available on Lineman. They are known for their excellent premium beef at affordable prices and is always packed as you can see below. They are closed Mondays. They are very active and responsive on social media.

Pladids

Next to is Pladids. Located HERE they specialize in a variety of amazing home style meals and freshly caught seafood. They prefer reservations through their LINE official account @pladids but other ways to reach them are on their Facebook. Hours may vary, again, contacting them in advance with a Thai speaker is strongly recommended.

Lung Shall Kitchen

Located in Naklua not far from the Centara Grand Mirage area and known for a variety of dishes like squid, it’s a fantastic venue worth visiting. They have been open for 18 years and are still often considered a hidden gem. They aren’t as active on social media as some of the other restaurants on this list and we suggest you go and check them out for yourself for a wonderful experience!

Krua Laew Tae R-Rom

You can find out more about them here from the Michelin Guide. They are not open every day as they depend on fresh catches and often require advance booking. They are located not far from the North Pattaya bus terminal. Amazing seafood and delicious curries! They prefer to focus on their food versus social media.Khao Lam Mae Khai Toon Klao

Open for more than 60 years, this Saensuk dessert stall favorite is located here right on Sukhumvit. Unlike some others on this list, they are more laser lined focused on their desserts and they have been pleasing Bangsaen area residents and tourists for decades! Easy to find and try yourself, does not require bookings or reservations unlike some others on the list. There you go! We hope you enjoy and try them for yourself soon!
