Pattaya authorities have warned motorbike taxi drivers not to overcharge passengers, especially during the upcoming International Fireworks Festival on November 29th and 30th.
On November 12th, at Caesar Palace Hotel in Pattaya, Pol. Col. Navin Teerawit, Chief of Pattaya Police Station, chaired a meeting with motorbike taxi operators in preparation for the 2024 International Fireworks Festival. Several representatives from motorbike taxi groups around the city attended the meeting.
The 2024 International Fireworks Festival will take place on November 29th and 30th, 2024. During the event, Pattaya Beach Road will be closed from the Dolphin Roundabout to the Wat Chaimongkol Intersection, as well as Pattaya Central Road from Tops Supermarket to the Nipa Lodge Intersection, from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM. Parking will also be prohibited along Pattaya Beach Road from 5:00 AM to 12:00 AM to accommodate the expected influx of tourists coming to watch the fireworks.
Pol. Col. Navin stated that Pattaya Police Station had summoned motorbike taxi drivers to discuss transportation during the festival. He informed the drivers of the designated passenger pick-up points and emphasized that they must not overcharge passengers under any circumstances.
