A Thai man was arrested at a checkpoint in Chonburi after police discovered 300,000 methamphetamine pills hidden in his car.
At 3:00 PM on November 5th, Chonburi police held a press conference following the arrest of Mr. Sattawat O-sot, who was arrested due to his possession of over 300,000 meth pills.
The police said Mr. Sattawat, who was driving a white Honda Jazz, was stopped at a drug checkpoint the previous night. He was acting suspicious, so the police asked to search his vehicle and found a stash of 300,000 meth pills hidden in a fertilizer bag in the trunk. Mr. Sattawat was immediately detained and subjected to a urine test, which came back positive for drug use.
Mr. Sattawat reportedly confessed during interrogation that a man named Tae (real name unknown) had hired him through the LINE application. This individual instructed him to collect the methamphetamine from a McDonald’s on Bang Na Trat Road in Samut Prakan province. He was then ordered to deliver the drugs to Huai Yai Temple in the Chonburi area, in exchange for 30,000 baht. However, he was arrested at the checkpoint before completing the delivery.
Mr. Sattawat was charged with drug trafficking of a Category 1 narcotic, driving under the influence of a Category 1 narcotic, and possession and use of a Category 1 narcotic.
The investigation team is tracking the drug network involved in this operation.
