Pattaya —
At 10:30 PM on November 1st, 2024, Banglamung police investigators apprehended a Burmese suspect involved in stealing electrical wiring from the Wat Nong Ket Noi market in the Bang Lamung area.
The arrest followed a complaint filed by Mr. Chakrawan Boonsang, who reported the theft of wiring from his property.
Police reviewed CCTV footage from the scene, identifying a Myanmar national named Aow Tu, 27, as the suspect. Witnesses reportedly recognized the suspect and alerted authorities when he was seen walking in the market area.
Officers confronted Aow, who reportedly admitted to stealing the wire after viewing the CCTV evidence. He stated he had sold it to a scrap dealer for 250 baht and spent the money. The Burmese suspect further revealed he had entered Thailand illegally via Mae Hong Son two years ago.
Pattaya authorities charged him with nighttime theft and unauthorized entry into Thailand, and he was handed over to investigators for further legal processing and eventual deportation.
