Pattaya —

Thai immigration police arrested two Swedish men in Pattaya for overstaying their visas after they were linked to a call center scam that caused over 50 million baht in damages.

The arrest was announced on October 29th at the Immigration Bureau office. Relevant authorities revealed that they received information about the two Swedish nationals, who were allegedly involved in a call center fraud scheme, hiding in Pattaya. The scam had resulted in over 50 million baht in damages, and the suspects had fled to Thailand.

During an inspection at a condominium, officers noticed the first suspect, identified only as Mr. John, 24. They requested to check his passport, and Mr. John was found to have overstayed his visa. He was immediately arrested for overstaying his permission to stay in Thailand and was handed over to Pattaya Police Station for legal action.

Subsequently, officers arrested another Swedish man, identified only as Mr. Vladis. Both he and Mr. John reportedly had criminal records in Sweden for fraud related to a call center scam. They were handed over to immigration officers for further deportation proceedings.
