Pakistani Tourist Allegedly Beaten by Fellow Nationals After Refusing to Buy Herbal Products in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A group of Pakistani nationals allegedly beat up a Pakistani tourist who refused to buy their herbal products in Pattaya on October 26th.

The incident occurred in front of the Arab Natural Herbal Shop at the Night Plaza Market along Pattaya Beach at around 6:15 PM. The store, reportedly owned by an unidentified Pakistani national, sells herbal products for hair care, weight loss, skincare, and joint pain relief. However, the shop was closed when the media arrived after receiving the assault report on October 28th.

Mr. Mit, a friend of the person who recorded the video of the assault, told the media that the victim, identified only as Mr. Muhammad, a Pakistani national, was approached on the street by a group of Pakistani vendors who allegedly pressured him to purchase herbal products.

Suspecting foul play, the victim began recording the situation, which angered the vendors. They then allegedly assaulted Mr. Muhammad until he lost consciousness. The victim has since filed a report with Pattaya Police Station. Mr. Mit noted that similar incidents involving Pakistani vendors attempting to force foreign tourists to buy herbal products have frequently occurred in this area, and he urged the police to stop it as soon as possible.

It was reported that Pattaya police have been unable to contact the victim for further details. Meanwhile, officers from Pattaya Police Station and Pattaya Tourist Police have visited the area, but the shop is still closed. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to track down and prosecute the perpetrators.

In related news, a Pattaya herb shop was raided last week for allegedly pressuring, overcharging, and selling unregistered herbal products to tourists, leading to multiple arrests.
