Pattaya —
A Chinese driver sustained minor injuries after his car crashed into a barrier in the Pattaya Central tunnel. He claimed, however, that the crash was caused by his car being sideswiped by another vehicle.
At 10:06 PM on October 28th,, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center received a report of a car collision on the road through the Pattaya Central tunnel. Rescue volunteers, Pattaya police officers, and reporters from The Pattaya News immediately went to the scene.
Upon arrival, authorities found a white Toyota Vios, which had crashed into a barrier on the inbound side toward Sattahip, sustaining severe damage and blocking the road. The driver, 41-year-old Mr. Sun Hao, a Chinese national, sustained minor injuries and received first aid from rescue personnel.
According to the rescue team, the injured driver stated that another vehicle had sideswiped his car, causing him to lose control and crash into the barrier. The other driver immediately left the scene.
Pattaya police are reviewing CCTV footage to prove this claim and find the other driver involved.
