Fake Grenade Alarms Landlord in Pattaya

Pattaya –

A fake grenade alarmed a landlord in Pattaya on Saturday (October 27th).

The Pattaya City Police were notified of the incident at 2:36 P.M. at a block of rental rooms in Soi Naklua 27. Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers, the Pattaya City Police, and the Pattaya News team rushed to the rental room to find an item appearing to be similar to a hand grenade in a gold color inside a room.

The item was carefully moved out to the front of the rental room complex and surrounded with rubber wheels for safety. The area was blocked off from entry leading to residents nearby to be worried about the situation.

The landlord, Mr. Yossiri Thiraphong, 50, told police that was cleaning the room after a Myanmar tenant had recently left. He found an item similar to a hand grenade inside a wardrobe and immediately fled and called police.

The EOD found that the item was a fake hand grenade loaded with gun powder which is flammable but cannot expleod. The item was trying to disguise itself as a real grenade.

Relevant law enforcement officials are looking into the identity of the former tenant, hoping to contact the man and interview him about why he would have such an unusual item in his room.
