Pol. Col. Man Rotthong, Superintendent of Tourist Police Division 2, chaired a meeting of the Pattaya Tourist Police on October 24th to discuss safety measures during the upcoming high season in Pattaya. The meeting also reviewed the progress of the Strong Tourism Community (S.T.C.) project and discussed safety plans for the Christmas and New Year 2025 celebrations.
Pol. Col. Man said that the Tourist Police, along with Thai and international Tourist Police volunteers, will be responsible for maintaining security for international visitors, especially at busy tourist areas like Walking Street.
He added that foreign volunteers, who speak a combined 13 languages, along with over 400 trained security personnel from local businesses and convenience stores, will help report any incidents to prevent violence and support officials in case of emergencies. Additionally, AI-powered CCTV cameras will be used to prevent crimes.
“Pattaya, as a top tourist destination, is fully prepared to keep visitors safe during the high season. Tourists can feel confident and enjoy their stay in Pattaya and Thailand,” Pol. Col. Man confidently announced.
