Delicious Thai dishes for only 30 Baht in Pattaya? Yes, really.

In Pattaya, Ms. Rattanaporn Chueachuchat, owner of Krua Khun Nai Kiew, has bucked the economic trend by offering basil rice dishes for just 30 baht. She revealed that her love for cooking for family and friends inspired her to open the shop to cater to working people and low-income earners. Despite the high operating costs, Ms. Rattanaporn focuses on providing hearty meals rather than making a profit.

The menu features special recipes known for their spicy flavors, using a mix of dried chilies and chili peppers. Popular dishes include basil pork and chicken, stir-fried pickled bamboo shoots, pork belly with red bean curry paste, mixed vegetable stir-fry, pork with garlic, and stir-fried fresh bamboo shoots. The six daily dishes rotate, priced at 30 baht for one dish with rice, 40 baht for an added fried egg, and 50 baht for three dishes with rice. Each dish is freshly prepared, ensuring a strong, authentic taste in the heart of Pattaya.

The affordable price and flavorful dishes have garnered strong customer support, with many returning regularly. Located next to Sophon Cable on Soi Chalermprakiat 10, Krua Khun Nai Kiew is open Monday to Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. For those who enjoy spicy basil rice, directions and the menu can be requested by calling 087-744-1744. The restaurant features a camping-style dining area under the trees, creating a shady, relaxed atmosphere. Decorated in a minimalist style, the clean and airy space is well-suited for a tourist city like Pattaya.
