Pattaya —
Rescue workers in Pattaya were amused as an intoxicated woman in a car crash said her “heart hurt” in emotional heartbreak after being asked about if she had any injuries.
At 1:16 AM on October 23rd, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Rescue Center received a report of a car overturning on the Laem Bali Hai overpass in Pattaya. Rescuers, Pattaya police, and The Pattaya News reporters immediately traveled to the scene.
There, responders found a heavily damaged blue Honda Brio sedan overturned in the middle of the road. The driver, identified only as 29-year-old Ms. Panthip, was found heavily intoxicated and had sustained only minor scrapes. However, when asked by rescue workers where she was injured, she gazed at them and confidently replied, “My heart hurts” not in regards to physical pain but emotional heartbreak, leaving the team both amused and slightly embarrassed as they continued to administer first aid.
Ms. Panthip incoherently admitted to drinking some alcohol before the accident. Nonetheless, she insisted that she normally drives well even after drinking alcohol and had no idea how she overturned her car.
Mr. Noppakhun Songcharoen, a Pattaya Special Operations officer, told The Pattaya News that he had earlier noticed Ms. Panthip staggering in a highly intoxicated state. He and other officers offered her a ride on their golf cart, but she insisted she would take public transportation. However, shortly after, Mr. Noppakhun was notified of a car crash and rushed to the scene, where he discovered that Ms. Panthip was the driver involved in the accident.
Ms. Panthip was taken into custody and is expected to face legal action.
