Thieves Steal Electric Wires from Chonburi Water Supply Station, Causing Extensive Damage

At 10:00 a.m. on October 18th, 2024, Phanat Nikhom Police Station received a report of a theft at the Nong Hiang 2 water supply station in Chonburi Province. Thieves had stolen electric wires from the station, which had been fully installed and was ready to supply water to local villagers. The damage is estimated at no less than 500,000 baht.

Upon further inspection, relevant authorities discovered that the thieves had cut all the electric wires from the transformer in front of the station to the control cabinet inside, rendering the station inoperative. The water supply station was set to open soon to provide water to the local community.

Mr. Choy Bunya, a technician from the contractor company, stated that he had been notified by villagers at 2:00 a.m. that the station’s electricity had been cut. Upon inspection, he found that the electric wires had been stolen. He urged the police to track down the thieves, who are believed to be multiple individuals, and take legal action.
