Pattaya —
A Thai woman visiting Khao Kheow Open Zoo near Pattaya was overjoyed after a Facebook post helped reunite her with a lost wallet containing over 40,000 baht.
On October 14th, the wallet owner, Ms. Phasuk Samroengsin, a 34-year-old factory worker from Rayong, shared with local reporters that she lost her wallet during a family trip to Khao Kheow Open Zoo on October 13th. She and her family were visiting, Moo Deng, the current superstar of the zoo, when she had taken out the wallet to buy a drink but accidentally left it behind.
Ms. Phasuk stated that the wallet contained over 40,000 baht in cash and important documents. After searching around the zoo and unable to find it, she thought she would never get it back.
However, the next day, a friend told her that someone had posted on the “Pluak Daeng City” Facebook page about finding her wallet. Ms. Phasuk quickly reached out to the person, and on October 14th, she met with Ms. Sureerat Phrosamnaing, the wallet’s finder, in Pattaya to have it returned.
Ms. Sureerat, a 41-year-old company employee from Prachinburi, explained that she found the wallet at the zoo and immediately sought to return it. She had no intention of keeping the money because it wasn’t hers, so she contacted the Facebook page to spread the news out.
Ms. Phasuk was overjoyed to get her wallet back and offered Ms. Sureerat 3,000 baht as a thank-you, though Ms. Sureerat initially hesitated to accept it. The two women shared a heartfelt moment, both happy with the outcome.
