Pattaya —
Tourists, mostly domestic, flocked to Pattaya and Koh Larn during the ongoing long weekend in Thailand to honor King Rama IX Memorial Day.
On October 13th, local media reported that a large number of tourists traveled to Pattaya, with Bali Hai Pier being significantly crowded, as people waited to get to Koh Larn. Many visitors were seen waiting to board boats to enjoy their holiday during Thailand’s three-day weekend from October 12th to 14th, which coincides with King Rama IX Memorial Day.
Authorities have implemented strict safety measures, such as the need for all passengers to wear life jackets before boats depart to ensure their safety.
It is estimated that the long weekend will generate tens of millions of baht in revenue for the city. Another popular destination near Pattaya was Khao Kheow Zoo to see world famous baby pygmy hippo, with an estimated 30,000 visitors over the weekend.
