Pattaya Pad Thai Restaurant Gives Away 85 Kilograms of Pad Thai to Honor King Rama IX

Pattaya —

A famous local Pad Thai restaurant in Pattaya, Je Ya Pad Thai Sukhothai, gave away over 85 kilograms of Pad Thai to Pattaya residents in honor of King Rama IX on the anniversary of his passing.

The giveaway took place on October 13th, which is Thailand’s Nawaminthara Maharaj Day or King Rama IX Memorial Day.

The owner of the restaurant, Ms. Kanya, and her family came together to give away freshly cooked Pad Thai to passersby in front of their Pad Thai restaurant located at the entrance of Soi Nern Plub Wan. Ms. Kanya told The Pattaya News that she made this gesture as a tribute on the 8th anniversary of His Royal Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great’s passing, to commemorate his immeasurable kindness and express their gratitude for his boundless compassion towards the Thai people.

Other than 85 kilograms of Pad Thai, the family handed out rice noodles, sticky rice with pork, salads, traditional Thai sweets, and drinks. The food was given until it ran out.

Ms. Kanya further stated that she and her family looked forward to this day every year to do good deeds for the King by giving away food. This is the sixth consecutive year they have done this, and her family plans to continue this tradition every year.
