Banglamung —
After heavy rainfall caused significant flooding in the Khao Mai Kaew area, local officials are now working diligently to clean roads and help residents whose homes were damaged.
On the afternoon of October 12th, heavy rain fell for over four hours in the Khao Mai Kaew area of Banglamung district, Chonburi province. This caused water levels to rise and flood many local roads. The water also overflowed into several homes, causing extensive damage to several households.
On October 13th, Khao Mai Kaew officials, led by Mr. Jamnian Keetipakoon, conducted an inspection of the affected areas. They found signs of damage from the flooding on National Highway 331, where large amounts of mud had been washed onto the road. Officials used bulldozers to remove the mud and clean the road surface to allow motorists to pass safely.
In another area, flooding caused a wall to collapse and damaged several houses. Authorities are helping the residents by using water trucks to clean their homes and local roads. A team of engineers will be sent later to repair the houses and wall, and long-term plans will be developed to tackle the persistent flooding issues.
