The Pattaya police chief has directed officers to intensify patrols and crack down on crimes to improve safety ahead of the city’s upcoming Police Day celebration on October 17th.
On October 10th, Pol. Col. Navin Teerawit, Superintendent of Pattaya Police Station, presided over the monthly meeting to issue new directives for the Pattaya police. The meeting also reviewed the performance of each police department over the past month.
Pol. Col. Navin issued several directives, such as the need for officers to intensify patrols at five key risk areas, expedite the crackdown on drug-related crimes, and control illegal motorbike racing.
He also highlighted the implementation of the “5 Frees” policy, which includes 1. Safety, 2. Drug-free, 3. Weapon-free, 4. Human trafficking-free, and 5. Employment-free for those under 18. Additionally, officers were urged to enhance beach safety during nighttime hours to protect Pattaya’s image as a world-class tourist destination.
The meeting also discussed the preparations for the upcoming Police Day event, scheduled for October 17th. The event will begin in the morning with a merit-making ceremony and a pledge-taking to uphold police integrity.
In the evening, a sports event will be held on Pattaya Beach between the police and the public to foster good relationships. Currently, the Pattaya Police Station has a total force of 376 officers, with a full capacity of 420 officers.
