Pattaya —

A heroic Thai doctor rushed to save a foreign tourist who suffered a sudden cardiac arrest on Pattaya Central Road.

A video clip is being widely shared on Thai social media, showing the dramatic scene of a foreign tourist experiencing what believed to be a sudden cardiac arrest on Pattaya Central Road. The incident was recorded by a good Samaritan.

In the footage, the tourist was seen lying on Pattaya Central Road, when a young Thai doctor rushed to provide first aid to him, along with rescue volunteers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation.

After the incident, it was revealed that the doctor who assisted the foreigner is Dr. Surachet Sirisuthivoranon, also known as “Dr. Mark,” a 32-year-old physician at Chan Clinic who is currently pursuing a PhD at Siriraj Hospital.

Dr. Mark shared with local reporters that while the unidentified foreigner was waiting at a red light on Pattaya Central Road, across from Foodland, he suddenly lost consciousness, collapsed, and lost his pulse.

Residents nearby called for help from the nurses and doctors at a nearby clinic. Dr. Mark, who was nearby, immediately stepped in to help resuscitate the foreigner alongside traffic police and rescue volunteers until an ambulance arrived. Dr. Mark also accompanied the patient in the ambulance until he reached the hospital.

Dr. Mark expressed his gratitude to the police, rescue volunteers, and good Samaritans who helped the tourist. He also stated that it is crucial for everyone to learn basic first aid, as it can potentially save lives in emergency situations.
