A Thai man was arrested allegedly after stealing a bag containing valuables worth over 100,000 baht from a security company in Sri Racha district.
The suspect, Mr. Thawatchai Panwan, was arrested after he reportedly crept into a security company and stole a bag left on a desk, along with several expensive valuables, before fleeing the scene. However, a good Samaritan recognized him from the news and captured him before notifying the police.
According to reports, the incident took place around 6:30 PM on October 7th. Mr. Thawatchai was caught on CCTV footage walking into the company, taking a wallet and a shoulder bag left on a desk, and then leaving the premises.
Mr. Boonsriem Jaemjamrat, the 62-year-old owner of the company, stated that he had stepped out to wash his car when the suspect took the opportunity to enter his company office and grab his wallet and his wife’s bag. The valuables and cash in the bag were worth over 100,000 baht.
After the incident, a good citizen spotted a young man who resembled the suspect from the news. They then managed to detain him and contacted the victim, who notified the police.
Mr. Thawatchai reportedly confessed to the crime and returned the stolen items, except for the cash, which he admitted to spending it all on drugs. The police then took him into custody.
