A 17-year-old student was killed and another seriously injured in a motorcycle crash with a luxury car driven by a Russian national in Sattahip district, Chonburi province, on October 8th, 2024.
The accident was reported to the Na Jomtien Police Station around 6:40 PM, prompting officers and rescue workers to hurry to the scene near the Buddha Mountain (Khao Chi Chan).
At the scene, two male victims were found. The first, a 17-year-old student, suffered scrapes on his body, bleeding around his eyes, and a severely fractured left leg. He was disoriented and was immediately taken to a local hospital.
Nearby, the body of the deceased, also 17, was discovered. He was lying in a pool of blood with broken legs, arms, and a fractured skull. Both victims were vocational students at Sattahip Technical College.
The deceased’s black Yamaha NMAX motorcycle was discovered at the scene with heavy front-end damage. Nearby, police found a black Maserati car with no license plate. The car had sustained extensive damage to its left side, including a broken wheel and shattered windshield. The driver, an unidentified Russian national, refused to provide any information to or speak with the media. He was uninjured and only spoke to the police.
Later, Mrs. Naowarat, the 59-year-old grandmother of the deceased student, arrived at the scene. She tearfully explained that her grandson had just finished school and was on his way home to Rayong, when the fatal accident took his life.
The police are still interviewing the Russian driver as of press time. They will also wait for the surviving student’s injuries to improve to investigate the cause of the accident and proceed with possible legal action.
