Motorcyclist Critically Injured in Collision with Utility Pole in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A 34-year-old Thai man was critically injured after his motorcycle crashed into a utility pole on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya early on October 7th, 2024.

The accident was reported to Pattaya police around 12:10 AM, prompting authorities and rescue workers to rush to the scene at Sukhumvit Road near the Jomtien Second Road intersection.

At the site, a blue Honda Wave 125 motorcycle was found crashed into a utility pole on the roadside, with its front severely damaged. Nearby, the injured victim, identified as Mr. Teerapong Chaisomboon, 34, was found in critical condition. He had a large head wound and both of his arms were broken. Rescue workers provided first aid before urgently transporting him to a nearby hospital.

Mr. Pornchai Yukkaew, a 34-year-old eyewitness, stated that he was driving near the Jomtien Second Road intersection when he noticed a motorcycle overturned in the nearby brush. He stopped to check and found the injured man lying in a pool of blood. He immediately notified the police and rescue services for help.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
