Pattaya —
A fire at the Big Moose beer bar and rental rooms in Pattaya trapped six residents, prompting an emergency response from firefighters.
The fire broke out around 7:30 AM today, October 7th, at the Big Moose beer bar and daily rental rooms located near Pattaya Beach Road. The fire originated on the ground floor, which blocked exits and trapped six residents inside the building.
When firefighters arrived, they quickly sprayed water to control the flames and managed to safely evacuate those trapped inside before rushing them to Pattaya Hospital for urgent medical attention.
The firefighters revealed that the ground floor, which operates as a beer bar, was almost completely damaged by the fire, while the upper floors, which are rented out, were not damaged. Firefighters worked to ventilate the building and remove the smoke.
Ms. Wannee Phanlai, the 42-year-old caretaker of the rental rooms, recounted that while she was resting on the fifth floor, she received a phone call telling her that the building was on fire downstairs. In her panic, she rushed down and was met with a large amount of smoke.
Ms. Wannee attempted to push through the flames to escape and saw officials using fire extinguishers to combat the blaze. She noted that she had been managing the property on behalf of the owner and had never experienced such an incident before. She suspected that the fire may have been caused by an electrical short circuit on the ground floor, as she heard explosions while the firefighters were extinguishing the flames.
Relevant authorities are examining the scene to determine the exact cause of the fire.
