Pattaya —
A British man wanted for trespassing and overstaying his visa was arrested in Pattaya after trying to flee from officers while intoxicated by cannabis.
On the evening of October 3rd, Chonburi Immigration officers arrested a 28-year-old British national, identified as Mr. Davis Songhuek Pittrak, under an arrest warrant issued by the Pattaya Provincial Court. He was accused of nighttime trespassing and property damage, as well as overstaying his visa in Thailand.
According to reports, Chonburi Immigration had received information that Mr. Davis was hiding in Pattaya. A tip-off from an informant later revealed that he was seen walking along Pattaya Second Road.
Authorities approached Mr. Davis, but he immediately ran away. However, officers managed to quickly catch him due to the fact that he was heavily intoxicated by cannabis, said the officers. A search of his belongings also uncovered a small amount of cannabis.
During questioning, Mr. Davis denied all charges, claiming he had not committed the crimes and was not overstaying. However, after further investigation, it was confirmed that he had an active arrest warrant and had overstayed in Thailand for more than 120 days. The suspect was then handed over to the Nongprue Police Station for legal proceedings and will face deportation.
