Sri Racha —
A tragic car crash in Sri Racha claimed the lives of two people, including a 6-year-old boy, with the driver claiming she briefly passed out while driving.
On September 30th, Sri Racha police were notified of a serious car accident that resulted in two fatalities. The incident occurred on the road around the Bang Phra Reservoir in the Surasak sub-district, Sri Racha district, Chonburi province. Police promptly went to the scene along with the Sawang Pratheep Sri Racha rescue team.
At the site, authorities found the bodies of two victims, including 59-year-old Mrs. Liab and her 6-year-old grandson. They both died at the scene.
Nearby, a red and black Honda Zoomer-X motorcycle was discovered severely damaged. A black Honda City car was found in a ditch along the roadside with significant damage. Ms. Apinya Kaewmora, 30, identified herself as the driver of the car and was waiting to give a statement to the police. She was uninjured.
Witnesses told police they heard a loud crash while they were working in a nearby shop. They rushed outside to find two bodies lying by the road, prompting them to call the rescue team.
Ms. Apinya, the driver, alleged that she was driving her child to school and briefly fainted on the way back. The next thing she knew, rescue workers were assisting her.
The police conducted an investigation at the scene and reportedly found that the car driver had braked at a curve before losing control, crossing into the opposite lane, and colliding with the victims. However, authorities plan to conduct a further investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
