Navaratri Celebrations Set to Illuminate Pattaya

Pattaya, Thailand– Devotees, mark your calendars! The Mahakali Avatar Universe Mother Temple and the Chonburi Indian Association are gearing up to host the grand “Navaratri” ceremony from October 3-11, 2024. This nine-day and nine-night celebration will take place at the Mahakali Avatar Universe Mother Temple, located on Soi Kaset Sin, Khao Phratamnak, Pattaya.

In a recent press conference, Ms. Amporn Kaewsaeng, founder of the Mahakali Avatar Universe Mother Temple, along with Dr. Deo Kumar Singh, President of the Chonburi Indian Association, and other notable figures, announced the detailed plans for the event. This year marks the first time the temple will host the Navaratri ceremony, making it a historic occasion for the community.

Event Highlights:

– October 8, 2024: The Soha Aarti chanting ceremony will be conducted by the Brahmins of the Barami group, starting at 5:00 p.m.
– October 9, 2024: Morning chanting and fire Aarti ceremonies will be followed by a grand procession at 4:00 p.m. The procession will travel from the temple to Pattaya 2nd Road, Beach Road, and the Dolphin Roundabout, with stops at four key locations for devotees to pay homage.
– October 10, 2024: The evening will feature a special chanting ceremony and a traditional Dandia dance performance, a cultural highlight from Gujarat, India.

Throughout the Navaratri festival, participants are encouraged to abstain from meat and alcohol, and to uphold the precepts of the celebration. A vegetarian food canteen offering Thai and Indian cuisine will be available for all attendees.

Dr. Deo Kumar Singh emphasized the significance of Navaratri, a festival that celebrates the victory of Goddess Durga over the demon after nine days and nights of battle. He invited all devotees to join in the festivities and honor the nine deities of Goddess Durga.

Mr. Naresh Chander, Vice President of the Chonburi Indian Association, highlighted the cultural importance of the Dandia dance, supported by the Gujarat Association Pattaya, and encouraged everyone to participate in this vibrant celebration.
