Alleged Illegal U-Turn Leads to Motorcycle Crash in Pattaya

Pattaya —

A car reportedly made a U-turn in a no U-turn zone on Pattaya Central Road, leading to a collision with a motorcycle and leaving the rider injured.

At 11:40 PM on September 29th, Pattaya police received a report of a traffic accident at the entrance of Soi Buakhao on Pattaya Central Road. They coordinated with the local rescue team before rushing to the scene.

There, a white Honda PCX motorcycle was found overturned in the middle of the road, with significant front-end damage. Nearby, the injured victim, identified as Ms. Phicharat Meekudwian, 33, was lying on the ground with a broken left leg and abrasions on her body.

Rescue personnel provided first aid before transporting her to a nearby hospital. A short distance away, a gray Mazda sedan was found with damage to the front right side. The driver, Mr. Sompong (family name withheld upon request), 36, was waiting at the scene to provide a statement to the authorities. He was uninjured.

According to Mr. Sompong, he reportedly admitted to making a U-turn in a no U-turn zone, as he did not notice any vehicles approaching. However, the motorcycle, driven by the injured victim, came from the opposite direction and collided with the front of his car.

The police will wait for the injured party to be discharged from the hospital for further questioning to determine the exact cause of the accident.
