On September 28th, 2024, the Thai Meteorological Department issued a weather advisory warning of unstable weather in upper Thailand from September 29th to October 3rd.
A moderate high-pressure system from China will cover northern and northeastern Thailand, along with the South China Sea, while a monsoon trough will affect the lower northern, northeastern, central, and eastern regions.
This will bring thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rain to certain areas, with very heavy rain expected in some parts of northern, central Thailand, including Bangkok and surrounding areas, as well as the east. Afterward, temperatures will drop by 1-3 degrees Celsius in the northeast, accompanied by strong winds.
Residents in upper Thailand are urged to be cautious of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rain, which may cause flash floods and landslides, especially in low-lying areas and those near waterways. The public is also advised to take care of their health due to the rapidly changing weather conditions.
