Pattaya —
A woman’s motorcycle was stolen in Pattaya after she forgot to lock the handlebars. The victim claimed she needed to gather the evidence herself due to the police’s alleged inaction.
At 11:30 AM on September 25th, Ms. Natthichaya (last name withheld upon request), 34, complained to local Pattaya reporters that thieves had stolen her blue Honda Wave i motorcycle from outside her rental room in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.
The victim explained that she had parked her motorcycle without locking the handlebars before heading to her room. Two thieves, aged between 20 and 25, then stole it. After discovering her motorcycle was missing, Ms. Natthichaya reported the incident to the Nongprue Police Station.
However, Ms. Natthichaya alleged that the police simply advised her to accept the situation. Despite five days having passed, no investigating officers had visited the scene or reviewed any CCTV footage, she claimed. The woman said she was forced to look for the bike herself and decided to bring the matter to the media in hopes of finding some leads.
Ms. Natthichaya admitted her mistake in not locking the handlebars. She plans to submit the CCTV footage to the police as evidence and urges the authorities to quickly recover her motorcycle and apprehend the suspects before they can target others.
Police did not immediately release a statement and The Pattaya News notes that the statements of the woman were her own opinions and not those of the media.
