Pattaya —
A Laotian man was tragically killed after being struck by a truck on Bypass Road 36 near Pattaya. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident.
At 5:00 PM on September 23rd, Nongprue police, along with a rescue team from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation, rushed to the scene of a fatal traffic accident on the Bypass Road 36 (Krating Lai-Rayong) in the Pong area of Banglamung district, Chonburi province.
At the scene, the body of a 33-year-old Laotian man, identified as Mr. Vanh Siboonrueang, was found with severe injuries. His body was severely crushed. Rescue workers quickly transported the body to a local hospital to prevent passersby from seeing the gruesome scene.
Approximately 50 meters away from the body, a severely damaged Honda Wave motorcycle was found, with its parts scattered on the road. Police reported that the deceased was struck by a truck, whose driver immediately fled the scene after the accident.
According to CCTV footage, the victim was attempting to cross from the left lane to the far-right lane to make a U-turn when the truck, traveling in the far-right lane, likely failed to see him and struck him. The truck then dragged the motorcycle for nearly 100 meters. The impact resulted in the rider’s death.
Police are working to track down the truck driver to proceed with legal action.
