The Ganesh Chaturthi festival in Pattaya concluded with a spectacular ritual as a statue of Lord Ganesha was floated in Pattaya Bay, honoring the Hindu tradition of sending the deity back to the heavens.
At the Maha Kali Temple in Pattaya, the Indian Association of Chonburi, in collaboration with the temple, organized a grand ceremony for Ganesh Chaturthi 2024 festival. This event featured the floating of a statue of Lord Ganesha in Pattaya Bay, a ritual believed to send the deity back to the heavens according to Hindu tradition.
The procession began at the Maha Kali Temple and moved down Thap Phraya Road, passing through Pattaya Second Road, Terminal 21 Pattaya, Dolphin Roundabout, and along Pattaya Beach Road to Walking Street. The procession concluded at the Laem Bali Hai Pier, where the statue of Lord Ganesha was ceremoniously placed on a boat and floated out into Pattaya Bay.
The statue of Lord Ganesha was sculpted with clay brought from India and was immersed in the water as part of the Ganesh Visarjan ritual. This ceremony marked the conclusion of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival.
