Pattaya City Council Approves New Parking Areas, Launches Pilot Program on Pattaya South Road

Pattaya City is set to roll out new parking areas, starting with a pilot program on Pattaya South Road.

On September 17th, 2024, the Deputy Mayor of Pattaya Mr. Wuttisak Rermkijakarn led a meeting of the officials responsible for organizing parking in Pattaya. The meeting included city council members and traffic police from Pattaya and Banglamung police stations.

After the meeting, Mr. Wuttisak announced that the city council has approved a set of new parking areas in Pattaya, which has already been signed by the mayor and approved by the Chonburi Governor.  The areas cover five main spots around the city, including Beach Road from Dusit Thani Pattaya Hotel to Pattaya South Pier Intersection, including Walking Street, Pattaya South Road from Walking Street to Sukhumvit Road, Pattaya-Naklua Road from Phothisamphan School to Sukhumvit Road, Lan Pho Market parking lot, and 5) Dongtan parking area.

The officials chose Pattaya South Road as the first area to test the new parking. Mr. Wuttisak said officials will inform the public of these areas on a regular basis, and people who park illegally will at first only receive warnings. However, if they continue to break the rules, their vehicles may be locked, and fines will be issued.
