Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes into Pattaya Construction Pit, Escapes Injury

An allegedly heavily intoxicated driver crashed his car into an underground power line construction pit in Pattaya but escaped without injury.

At 5:46 AM on September 18th, 2024, Pattaya police received a report of a car accident on Chaloem Phra Kiat Road 3, Pattaya, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Authorities immediately rushed to the scene, along with emergency responders and The Pattaya News reporters.

Upon arrival, authorities found a black Toyota Yaris that had lost control and fallen into a pit at an underground power line construction site. The car was damaged, and the driver, identified only as Mr. Boy, 34, was heavily intoxicated and incoherent, according to police. Fortunately, he was not injured, though the public power line conduit sustained minor damage.

Rescue workers removed the car from the pit. Meanwhile, Mr. Boy was taken to a local police station to potentially face legal charges.
