Pattaya —
A thief broke into an apartment in Pattaya and stole valuables worth over 10,000 baht.
The incident occurred at a two-story apartment building located on Soi Khao Talo 9, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. At 2:06 AM on September 5th, 2024, police officers from the Nongprue Police Station rushed to the scene upon receiving a theft report.
On the second floor, police found the victim, Ms. Koranit Malapan, a 48-year-old bar worker, waiting at the crime scene inside her room. Koranit said the suspect had climbed the second-floor balcony, removed the window panes, and entered her room through the back window to steal several items, including a gold ring, a gold-encased Buddha amulet, and cash she had saved in a piggy bank, all totaling over 10,000 baht.
Ms. Koranit stated that she had left for work at 1 PM, and when she returned around 1 AM after her shift, she discovered that her belongings had been ransacked and several valuable items were missing.
Another victim, Ms. Jutharat Somnuk, a 25-year-old woman staying in the same apartment building, reported that the thief had forced open the front door lock and ransacked her room, stealing an Indian silver ring and a fake gold necklace weighing 1 baht.
Ms. Jutharat, who works at the same bar as the first victim, stated that she had returned to the apartment at the same time as Ms. Koranit. Upon arrival, she found her front door had been pried open, but fortunately, the stolen necklace was only a fake.
The Nongprue police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area and working to apprehend the suspect.
