Pattaya Gas Station Worker Fired After Threatening Customer with Knife

Pattaya —

A gas station worker in Pattaya threatened a customer with a knife over a minor gas overfill, leading to immediate dismissal.

The incident was first reported on the “Jea Moy V+” Facebook page, where an unidentified customer claimed that a gas station worker brandished a knife at them during an argument about the worker slightly overfilling the gas tank. The post quickly became viral, with many users sharing and commenting on the incident.

Local reporters visited the gas station in question, located on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya, and spoke with a 54-year-old employee named Pa Na, who witnessed the incident. According to Pa Na, the argument began when a customer asked an elderly attendant to fill the tank with gas worth 435 baht. However, the attendant accidentally overfilled the tank by 5-6 baht, leading to a dispute. In a moment of anger, the attendant grabbed a knife used for cutting packaging but did not harm the customer.

The gas station owner, who was not present during the incident, later spoke with the reporters. The owner explained that after the argument, they apologized to the customer and discussed how to resolve the situation. The customer left without demanding legal action, and the gas station decided to terminate the elderly attendant. The attendant was not a regular employee but was occasionally hired to help out, the owner said.

The name of the involved worker was not revealed by local reporters.
