Pattaya —

At 1:00 AM on August 31st, 2024, Pattaya City police investigated CCTV footage following a theft report of a motorcycle from a local rented apartment on the morning of August 30th in Mueang Pattaya.

Ms. Jariya Chomchuen, 45, filed a report at 7:00 AM on August 30th, stating that her blue-and-black motorcycle, parked outside her apartment, was missing.
CCTV footage revealed that at 3:00 AM, a young man pushed the motorcycle away before starting the engine and riding off with it. Additional footage showed a second person on a bicycle riding alongside the first suspect.

The police used the footage to track down the stolen motorcycle, which was found hidden near a pedestrian bridge in front of Pattaya City School 5 at 1:00 AM on August 31st. Jariya confirmed it was her bike, and it was taken to the police station for documentation.

According to the police, Jariya expressed her gratitude to the police for their swift action in recovering her motorcycle within a day, a rare outcome given the frequent motorcycle thefts in the area.

The suspects, however, are still at large as of press time.
