On August 29th, 2024, Major Cineplex Group announced plans to open six new Kids Cinema theaters across various provinces in the second half of 2024.
The new branches will be located at Major Cineplex Central Chiang Mai (Central Festival), Central Rayong, Central Nakhon Pathom, Robinson Phetchaburi, Robinson Ratchaphruek (Nonthaburi), and Westville Cineplex (Nonthaburi).
The first of these new theaters, located at Major Cineplex Central Chiang Mai (Central Festival), will open on August 31st. This will bring the total number of Kids Cinema theaters to 20 by the end of 2024, with a goal to expand to 40 locations by 2025.
Designed with families in mind, Kids Cinema theaters feature double sofa beds, 30% brighter lighting, and 20% lower sound levels to create a comfortable movie experience for children. Additionally, these theaters include recreational areas with colorful ball pits and slides, and they offer services for private events such as birthday parties.
To celebrate the opening at Central Chiang Mai, families can enjoy a free movie screening at 11:00 AM on August 31st, and M GEN Kids members (aged 12 and under) can watch movies for free on August 31st and September 1st.
Major Cineplex aims to sell 600,000 tickets and enroll 250,000 M GEN Kids members by the end of 2024, with projections to reach 1 million tickets by 2025 as the Kids Cinema concept continues to grow.
