A six-wheeler truck crashed into a ten-wheeler on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya, leaving one passenger injured.
At 7:00 AM on August 29th, 2024, emergency responders from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation responded to a report of a six-wheeler truck colliding with the rear of a ten-wheeler truck on Sukhumvit Road, near the Khao Talo intersection, in the inbound lane towards Sattahip, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. They immediately went to the scene along with The Pattaya News team after coordinating with Pattaya police.
Upon arrival, rescuers found the six-wheeler truck with severe front-end damage. The driver, Mr. Suthep Kulnak, 34, was found at the scene uninjured. However, his passenger, Ms. Supaporn Sangwan, 27, was trapped in the passenger seat. Rescue workers used hydraulic equipment to free her before rushing her to the hospital for urgent treatment.
Down the road, rescuers found a ten-wheeler truck with minor damage to the rear right side. The driver, Mr. Phiphopphat Khamsomjit, 42, was waiting to give a statement to the police. He was unharmed.
Mr. Suthep, the driver of the six-wheeler, stated that he was transporting fabric softener from Bang Pu to Sattahip when he lost control of his vehicle after braking, resulting in the collision with the ten-wheeler.
Meanwhile, Mr. Phiphopphat, the ten-wheeler driver, explained that he was transporting school milk from Sa Kaeo province to Pattaya City 7 School when he suddenly felt a jolt from the rear. He quickly stopped the vehicle to check and discovered that the six-wheeler had crashed into him.
Pattaya police are reviewing CCTV footage to ensure a fair investigation for all parties involved.
